I was extremely pleased with the holographic gnome cave that was the star of the 2016 grotto. So much so that I’ve decided to attempt a more ambitious ‘Pepper’s Ghost’ effect for 2017. As with anything I do this will be very experimental. The basic idea is to use a frame (1.5 x 2m) made from aluminium box tubing. I will then mount clear double glazing film onto the frame and lean and prop the frame at roughly 45 degrees. Instead of an ipad I will be using a data projector to project my animation onto the ceiling, which should then reflect onto the double glazing film. The finished effect will hopefully be fairies that materialise and flutter in front of the audience….. fingers crossed!
